This is my last Ashton Court parkrun before moving up an age grade (Bananarama are taking over next week, so I’ll be parkrunning elsewhere), and my first after two weeks of running on the flat flat terrain of Suffolk. It was parkrun pb weekend, with people getting a pb being entered into a draw for a new pair of running shoes. Given than my most recent run was a pootling 4km on Monday on flat ground I didn’t rate my chances, but gave it a good go anyway. The two hills were particularly noticed by my glutes and hips, with my legs joining in my breathing in thinking it was all a bit much.
I finished just the right side of 23:30 according to my Garmin, with an official finish time of 23:29 which is an Ashton Court pb for me. I was 83rd out of 289 parkrunners, 12th lady and 6th in my age grade. After two weeks running elsewhere I’d dropped down to 14th, tying with Zoe Plant, but kept ahead of her this week to move up to 10th in the points table.
