Only 4 hours of sleep beforehand, but I still made it round in under 26 minutes, with a sprint finish (goaded on by the person in front of me’s mates). I was trying out a new breathing pattern, which kind of worked. I didn’t feel as breathless and stitchy as usual but it still needs some working on (plenty of time to practise before the 10km). My garmin gave me the pleasingly palindromic and rotationally symmetrical time of 25:52.
I finished 106th out of 212, was 14th lady and 3rd in my age category.
