Bristol half training – improvers – wk7d3

I got up early to try and beat the heat and had a peanut butter and banana milkshake, allowing it to settle before hitting the Avon trail. I got some funny looks from other trail users, clad as I was in full length running tights and a long sleeved shirt, but I knew that I’d have several corridors of stinging nettles to negotiate, so the coverage was worth it.

This is the longest I have run. I was hoping to get to 16km, but ended up just shy after 90 minutes of continuous running. Not bad given the bumpy trail and having to give way to other users of the trail. I made sure to take on water every 15 minutes on the way out and every 10 minutes on the way back, and stuck to the shade where possible.
