Day 129/365 – Ashton Court parkrun

I was still a little bit achy this morning, but the weather looked reasonable and I wanted to see all of the Bank of Ireland runners so I toddled along to Ashton Court for my 101st parkrun. It was a little bit blustery but dry and not too cold. I checked my watch at the turn (13:00) and at the 75% mark (17:52) so figured I was technically on for sub 23 minutes (but didn’t think I’d make it) and should get close to my previous pb (23:20). I deliberately didn’t check it again until I crossed the line as I just gave it everything (knees high, arms pumping) and it couldn’t have made me go faster, only slower. I was very chuffed to see 22:51 as I pressed stop. That matches my previous parkrun pb on a flat course at Chipping Sodbury. Sub 23 minutes on the Ashton Court hill – gotta be happy with that.

I finished 78th out of 455 parkrunners, was 6th lady and 2nd in my age category.
