Day 143/365 – Fritton Lake parkrun

I wasn’t expecting a great run at Fritton Lake after only 3 hours of sleep due to noisy neighbours. It was also a bit colder and windier than last week. I set off too fast, clocking a 4:11 first km trying to chase down a small kid (who I eventually passed at the 1.6km mark) and developed a stitch on the second lap. I was surprised with my time at the end, which was only the second time I have run under 22 minutes for a 5km (so another pb for me at this course), but the fast ladies were back so I didn’t manage first home.

I finished 19th out of 87 parkrunners, was 4th lady and 1st in my age category. My official time was 10 seconds faster than my watch time, which would be a new 5km pb (but I think is wrong).
