It was the dreaded ‘B’ course at Ashton Court parkrun, where we have to go up the hill twice and the total elevation gain is 120m instead of the usual 100m. I was very pleased to come home in under 23 minutes for only the second time at Ashton Court, which made it a ‘B’ course pb. Several regulars were off at Pomphrey Hill parkrun, so I ended up with a good position. I was also wearing my parkrun barcode wristband for the first time. A size small, it was loose on my wrist but not too loose to be annoying, and most importantly it scanned.
I finished 49th out of 264 parkrunners, was 6th lady and 2nd in my age category. Turns out I was only 6 seconds off my Ashton Court pb. It didn’t feel that fast, but maybe because my current 5km pb is 21:19 on a flat course.
