I wasn’t sure how my body would react after yesterday’s epic run, but I was feeling pretty good when I got up this morning. I got up when I did because my new running shoes were being delivered (and obviously wouldn’t fit through the letterbox). I have been running in New Balance 1080v3 shoes since being properly assessed and fitted at Sweatshop. I’ve already burned through two pairs and the latest two are approaching the ends of their lives, but this model aren’t made any more so I’ve moved up to the latest incarnation, the 1080v5.
I was wearing thinner socks that usual, but even so these shoes feel lighter than the 1080v3, with slightly less cushioning and more feedback from the surface. The heel is still nice and snug and supportive. So far, I think I like them.
