A full month of running at least 5km every day, and today’s 5km was the Ashton Court parkrun. My legs felt like lead at the beginning and the first km took 5:12. I know I am on for a good time if I can make that first km in 5:00. There were some nasty crosswinds, but I just let myself go on the downhill and was surprised to overtake Geoff (though he overtook me later) and pleased to finish sub 24 minutes and ahead of Alison for a change. It was the fastest I have run the Ashton Court course since August last year.

I finished 75th out of 330 parkrunners, was 6th lady and 2nd in my age category. Still clinging on to second place in the points table, but my lead over Jane is being whittled away each week.
