Tuesday is normally Cuba Tone day and my new Garmin Vivofit had been delivered just before I was due to leave. Setting it up meant that I couldn’t quite make it if I walked so I hopped in the car to drive the 5 minutes to the leisure centre. Unfortunately I didn’t factor in the fact that the recycling truck which was round the corner out of my vision when I set off would take 25 minutes to travel 250m, even though there were multiple places where it could have pulled over and allowed the 6 cars it was holding up to pass. So I didn’t make it to my class, instead coming home and going out for a run. I ran the first 5km at threshold then dialed back to recovery pace and a cooldown walk.
This time my heart rate monitor felt a bit loose and I topped out at 193bpm.
