Surrounded by incompetence

I changed broadband and phone providers in July. It all went pretty well, I got my final bill in August. In the last week I’ve started getting message about my telephone package at my old provider.

First thing’s first, I cancel my direct debit – they’ve had their final payment. Then I call up customer services. 10 minutes it takes to explain that I am concerned that they haven’t cancelled my telephone element and I am going to be charged. They keep blathering on about my broadband (which I am happy is cancelled, it even says so in my account).

Finally got them to confirm that I won’t be billed and they’re going to stop copying me in messages about them cancelling my phone.
